Surface Diamond Drillers & Driller Assistants – All Levels, FIFO Hecla’s Keno Hill surface exploration program is recruiting experienced drillers and driller assistants for diamond core drilling in Canada’s Yukon Territory throughout the rest of 2026. These are camp-based, rotational positions on one of the world’s highest-grade silver districts. Drilling crews are employed through Hecla’s drilling contractor; Hecla manages this posting and refers suitable candidates. This is not a direct-hire opportunity with Hecla. Driller $43.20 – $54.00 / hr depending on experience Driller Assistant $28.80 – $33.60 / hr depending on experience PLUS production (meter) bonus, with extra bonuses for cementing, wedging, directional and deep-hole work. THE ROLE * Operate and support skid-mounted diamond drilling core rigs (HQ/NQ/BQ), including set-up, tear-down and moves. * Set and pull casing, ream, condition, trip for bit, and fish for lost tools. * Run downhole and gyro surveys; handle and label core, and grout completed holes. * Mix muds and additives, manage fluid recirculation, and maintain sumps and waterlines. * Complete pre-shift inspections and daily shift reports, and keep the drill site clean and orderly. QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum 2–3 years of experience; surface diamond drilling (HQ/NQ/BQ) a strong asset. * Ability and willingness to travel to a remote site. * Safety conscious, with a commitment to environmental compliance. * Valid driver’s licence. * Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and repetitive tasks. * Able to work 12-hour shifts, alternating days and nights, in a camp setting on rotation for extended periods. * Able to pass a drug/alcohol screen and fit-for-duty test. * First Aid, WHMIS and H2S Alive are assets. SCHEDULE & CAMP Fly-in fly-out and rotational, with a maximum 28 consecutive days on site. Drilling runs 24/7 across day and night shifts. Camp accommodation and meals at Flat Creek camp are provided, and travel to and from site is arranged from Whitehorse, by charter to Mayo and shuttle to site. SITE EXPECTATIONS The camp and entire property are strictly drug- and alcohol-free. Everyone on site is expected to work safely and in line with Hecla’s health, safety and environmental standards, including identifying and reporting hazards, using and maintaining PPE, and reporting spills and incidents immediately.
