Flying Bark Productions is a dynamic and innovative animation studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of character animation and storytelling. We are working on exciting projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Ghostbusters animated series and Stranger Things animated series, as well as our production Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan. Please be aware that for this specific role, having a valid work permit for Spain/Europe is a requirement. The Surfacing Technical Assistant (TA) supports production by providing day-to-day technical assistance to the Surfacing team, working closely with Supervisors and Production. This role helps ensure the smooth operation of the surfacing pipeline while maintaining asset quality, consistency, and efficiency across the project. About the role: Provide daily technical support to the Surfacing team Maintain and update the asset library Review, track, and help resolve bug reports and technical issues Perform quality control checks on assets prior to downstream delivery Support the consistency and integrity of surfacing assets across the project Build strong working relationships with key crew members and Production Follow direction from Supervisors and proactively seek guidance when needed Remain adaptable, flexible, and responsive to evolving production needs Complete tasks in line with production schedules and deadlines About you: Strong attention to detail Proficiency in Katana is essential. Other useful rendering related packages like Houdini and Renderman is a nice bonus. Working knowledge of Autodesk Maya and surfacing tools such as Substance Painter Basic understanding of Nuke and Katana within a production environment Experience with Python scripting (preferred) Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines consistently Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset Open to feedback and adaptable to change Passion for animation and storytelling Specific requirement: Valid work permit for Spain.
