Position Overview: As a Surgical Authorization Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining and verifying insurance authorizations for surgical procedures. Your work will ensure that patients experience a seamless process, while maintaining compliance with insurance requirements. Key Responsibilities: · Communicate with insurance companies to secure authorizations for surgical procedures. · Review patient medical records to ensure compliance with insurance guidelines. · Collaborate with surgeons, medical staff, and billing teams to ensure accurate scheduling and documentation. · Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and coding requirements. · Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing questions and concerns related to insurance coverage. Requirements Qualifications: Strong understanding of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and insurance authorization processes. Previous experience in a medical office or similar healthcare setting. Proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) and insurance portals.
