Description This position involves working closely with patients, doctors and midlevel providers who treat a wide array of neurological conditions. Expectations of this role include: reviewing the patient’s chart, scheduling various types of neurological surgeries and procedures, maintain a high level of organization, effective communication with patients and providers, and ability to consistently meet deadlines. Serves as main resource to physician for surgery scheduling. Communicates with Billing department to obtain pre-authorizations. Assists in the coordination of pre-op care for all patients. Communicates information to patients and families. Works collaboratively with physician and midlevel provider care team. Maintains physician’s surgical calendar. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines. Completes all surgical forms and sends to surgical facility. Ensures all paperwork needed for surgery is received by the facility. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements Education: A high school diploma/GED required. Qualifications: Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently with only general supervision. At least 1 years’ experience in a medical office setting preferred. Previous EMR experience preferred.
