We are a modern, state of the art outpatient surgery center located in the heart of San Francisco. We are in search of a Surgery Scheduler/Receptionist. Responsibilities Opens the Front Office of the Center before first patient check-ins Welcomes patients, families, physicians, and visitors to the surgery center either in person or over the phone General duties include: pre-registration and registration of patients (i.e. entering insurance and demographic information, consent forms, etc into EMR system) Completing insurance verifications Notifying patients of insurance coverage and copay/coinsurance responsibilities Receiving and directing phone calls, distribution of mail and messages, assisting the business office as necessary Prepare patient documents Accepting and posting payments Work directly with clinical staff members to understand the lengths of procedures, room availability, and needs of special supplies Coordinate schedule with anesthesia group Maintain Front Desk area Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organizations Additional languages preferred Knowledge of EMR systems Knowledge of commercial and private insurance plans Knowledge of Google Suite Education and Experience: High School graduate or equivalent 1 year or more experience with insurance verification, preferred 1 year or more experience in a medical office setting, preferred Required Licensure and Certification: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification or willing to complete by start date Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience
