Description We are looking for a full-time Surgery Scheduler to join our top notch team of professionals! Primary location would be at our Montgomery office (750 Fish Creek Thoroughfare Montgomery, TX 77316). Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM JOB SUMMARY: The surgery scheduler is responsible for scheduling patients for surgery for one or more providers, pre-admission testing, follow up on medical clearance, assistance with pre-certification and reviewing meds and health history, while supporting the patients with exceptional care. Surgery Scheduler will help prepare and educate patients for their pre-operative procedures, answer and return phone calls, coordinate operating rooms and the appropriate surgeons/assistants. The surgical scheduler will also work closely with the medical assistant(s) to assist with administrative duties to ensure the clinic runs smoothly and that patients receive and utilize satisfactory clinical services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Schedule new and established appointments for surgical procedures. Coordinate and schedule operating rooms, surgeons and assistants as needed. Completes necessary paperwork for surgical facility as required. Assist with insurance verification for procedures involving the surgery. Assist patients with financial counseling and ensure all proper steps are taken for the front office to obtain authorization and collections prior to surgery. Review patient’s medication and health history to determine pre-admission testing. Schedule appropriate medical clearance tests as needed. Relay instructions to patients/families; educate patients by providing procedure instructions; answering questions. Assist with clinics when surgery scheduling and admin completed. Assist physician, staff, and front office with administrative tasks regarding all surgical processes and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED certificate. 2 years experience in outpatient/private practice clinic environment; orthopedic preferred. Multiple providers a plus Familiar with ICD 10 codes for pre-certification and surgical procedures. Excellent customer (patient) service skills and telephone manner with the ability to maintain that demeanor when dealing with difficult, frightened, and/or impatient persons. Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands with requests and schedules. Familiarity with computers, office equipment, and medical/insurance software. This is not a full job descriptions.
