We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Assistant to support our Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon during a variety of procedures, including surgical extractions, implants, orthognathic surgeries, biopsies, and more. This is a patient-facing role requiring precision, compassion, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Take diagnostic-quality x-rays of the maxilla, mandible, and facial structures. Accurately review, verify, and document patient health histories. Effectively communicate treatment plans with the treatment coordinator and surgical team. Monitor and record vital signs during consultations and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines. Assist during surgical procedures with suctioning, airway management, instrument handling, and patient communication. Support post-operative recovery, providing reassurance and clear instructions to patients. Help safely transfer patients to and from the surgical chair, recovery area, and vehicles. Requirements 1+ year of experience as an Oral Surgery Assistant or Dental Assistant is preferred. Certified as DAI, DAII, or CDA. DAANCE certification (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) preferred. CPR and First Aid certification required. Familiarity with dental EHR systems (experience with [insert system if applicable] a plus). Knowledge of universal precautions, sterilization, and infection control protocols.
