ABOUT US

Ophthalmic Diagnostic Services is a busy and growing eye care clinic in downtown Toronto. We are currently
seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented Office Manager/Surgical Coordinator to join our
dedicated team. This is a dynamic role that combines clinic operations management with surgical
coordination and patient care support.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Foster a patient-centered care environment grounded in best practices and continuous improvement.
- Support and coach clinic staff, promoting an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach.
- Provide leadership aligned with the clinic’s goals and strategic priorities.
- Manage recruitment, training, scheduling, performance, and payroll for staff.
- Lead change management and mentor staff to navigate evolving priorities.
Surgical Coordination
- Manage and coordinate cataract and glaucoma surgeries across two surgical facilities for patients from
three locations.
- Maintain surgical waitlists and liaise with external surgery centers to book surgical dates.
- Counsel patients on cataract lens options and perform necessary measurements and calculations.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in surgical scheduling and patient records.
Clinic Operations
- Oversee daily operations including appointment scheduling, supply/inventory management, and office
organization.
- Respond to phone and in-person inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Assist with front desk tasks such as check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and payment collection.
- Ensure all workstations and diagnostic equipment are clean, safe, and functional.
- Submit OHIP billings and perform monthly reconciliations.
Patient Diagnostics & Support
- Perform and assist with diagnostic testing such as OCT, Visual Fields, Tonometry, and Pachymetry.
- Maintain high standards for patient care and service excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in a medical office, ideally in a leadership or coordination role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and phone etiquette skills.
- Proficiency with scheduling software and office systems.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- 3+ years of experience in ophthalmology or optometry clinic management.
- Familiarity with OHIP billing and surgical coordination.
- Secondary school diploma or higher.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
