Pollock Clinics is expanding to Vancouver Island! As a leader in men’s health and minor surgical procedures for over 30 years, we are proud to bring our expertise and patient-centered care to Victoria, offering greater access and convenience to Island residents.
We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with minor surgical experience to join our new Victoria team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduated from a recognized practical nursing program or possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Hold current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • CPR certification preferred, not required
  • 2+ years of nursing experience; private practice experience is an asset

  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills with the ability to plan and implement patient care
  • Knowledge of the full scope of practice as required by the BCCNM, including medication administration
  • Proficiency in operating related medical equipment
  • Physical ability to perform duties associated with patient care and surgical assistance
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide patient-centered care in a supportive environment
  • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist physicians during procedures, such as vasectomy and circumcision
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education on proper care procedures
  • Maintain clean and organized surgical rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.
  • Take patient vitals, administer medications as directed by physicians, and deliver nursing care as required
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation using the EMR system, including chart notes, patient records, medication updates, and physician correspondence
  • Receive and register patients, verifying demographics and medical information for accuracy
  • Perform data entry, process paperwork, review bloodwork, and follow up on relevant medical information
  • Respond to patient inquiries, retrieve files, and assist with various clerical duties as needed
  • Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring they feel comfortable, supported, and well-informed throughout their surgical experience
  • Sterilize medical devices between patients, adhering to the clinic sterilization protocols
  • Counsel patients confidentially on procedures and risks, and provide advanced knowledge for post-care
  • Communicate effectively within the surgical team to foster a cohesive work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
