Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (First Assist) for an established surgical team in Geneva, New York. POSITION OVERVIEW Serve as First Assist in the operating room alongside the Chief of Surgery, Vascular Surgeons, and Oncology Surgeons. Perform comprehensive pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up visits. Assist with inpatient rounding as needed. Coordinate communication between surgeons, referring providers, and primary care physicians to ensure continuity of care. Provide surgical patient education, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical management. Maintain accurate documentation while collaborating within a multidisciplinary surgical team. Professional development opportunities. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current New York State Physician Assistant License. National Certification (NCCPA). Current DEA Registration. Current BLS and ACLS certification. Strong clinical assessment and communication skills. First Assist or surgical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as a First Assist in the operating room for vascular, oncology, and general surgery. Manage comprehensive patient care including pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-ups, and inpatient rounding.
