Key Responsibilities: - Prepare patients for surgical procedures by reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring informed consent. - Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by providing necessary instruments and maintaining a sterile environment. - Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition throughout the perioperative period. - Administer medications as directed by physicians. - Provide postoperative care, including wound management, pain control, and patient education on recovery protocols. - Document all patient interactions, procedures, and observations accurately and thoroughly. - Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols. Skills and Qualifications: - Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. - Proven experience in surgical or perioperative nursing preferred. - Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient safety protocols. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to patient care. - BLS and ACLS certification required; additional certifications in perioperative nursing (CNOR) are a plus.
