Description The Surgical Technician or Licensed Practical Nurse, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and treatment of patients in the Operating Room. Regarding health information has access to demographics and limited clinical data relevant to the encounter. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities. Schedule: FT Requirements Graduate of an approved program for surgical technicians or graduate of a military training program in surgical technology with a high school diploma or GED. Certification in BCLS. Possesses a thorough knowledge of principles and practice of surgical asepsis. Essential Physical Requirements Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
