Description The Slate Hill Surgery Center in Camp Hill, PA, is seeking an experienced Surgical Technician (ST). The ST will coordinate and provide patient care to adult and teenage patients, in accordance with established and accepted standards of care, policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and accepted accreditation standards. **** This is a PRN position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for surgical procedures. Competency in area of practice. Demonstrates and adheres to principles of aseptic techniques. Knowledgeable of all basic set-ups for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves members of surgical team following aseptic techniques. Assists in set up of operating room with all necessary equipment and supplies. Arranges instruments according to routine for given procedure. Handles instruments according to routine for given procedure. Maintains sterile field throughout the surgical procedure. Functions in the role of second assistant following successful skills demonstration. Reviews physicians’ preference cards and updates as needed EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The ST must have a minimum of two years’ experience in the surgical suite. BLS required. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as function within a team; have the ability to assess patient needs, determine priorities; present good public relation skills; and possess the ability to handle stress. Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician school required. National Certification preferred. WORK SCHEDULE We offer Monday – Friday all day shift with no weekends, holidays, or on call.
