Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities: The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical technique. Demonstrates responsible behavior as a healthcare professional. Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs. The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure. Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures. May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent Experience: 1 years of Surgical Technologist experience or equivalent Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start. Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge in the first scrub role, utilizing advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical technique while anticipating the surgeon's needs for instruments and supplies. This role also involves identifying variances from expected outcomes and serving as a resource in at least two specialty areas or procedures.
