Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist 2 to join the Labor and Delivery team. This role will be Full-time Day Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm. Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities: * The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub. * Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical technique. * Demonstrates responsible behavior as a healthcare professional. Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs. * The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts. * Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure. * Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures. * May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent * Experience: 1 years of Surgical Technologist experience or equivalent * Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start. * License: Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required upon start Preferred Qualifications: * Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
