Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization procedures, principles of surgical procedures, anatomy and physiology, use and care of surgical instruments and equipment. Assist the surgical team in accomplishing the plan of surgical care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Understand the surgery schedule work-flow and is available to meet the needs for room turnovers, patient transport, and cleaning. Job Requirements: Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program. NBSTSA or NCCT Certified Surgical Technologist. High School diploma or GED. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: One year of surgical technologist experience.
Responsibilities
The Surgical Technologist will demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, surgical procedures, and instrument care while actively assisting the surgical team to accomplish the plan of surgical care. Responsibilities also include collaborating with healthcare professionals for efficient patient care and managing workflow tasks like room turnovers and patient transport.
