Additional Information About the Role GREAT OPPORTUNITY!!! We are hiring for a Surgical Technologist opportunity who has a passion working in mostly outpatient surgical procedures. POD 4 is located at the Center for Advance Medicine on the north side of the medical campus. This unit has 15 OR suites, with 4 suites dedicated to ophthalmology. POD 4's Core Services are primarily outpatient procedures, but also some inpatient and include general, plastics, ophthalmology, endocrine, oncology. Monday - Friday, 10 hour shifts 0630-1700 Required to be on call 8 times during a 6 week schedule May be required to stay to finish cases and/or called from home to staff urgent/emergent procedures SIGN ON BONUS Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies. Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens. Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location. Minimum Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED Experience
