Description Mission of Department: To protect the well-being of our patients by assisting the surgical team in preparing and maintaining a sterile operating environment. Purpose of Position: To Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, organizing necessary tools, and providing support during surgical procedures to help operations run smoothly and efficiently. Essential Functions: · Ensure the surgical environment is sterile and organized by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures. · Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons, monitor the sterile field, and assist with task such as suturing and dressing wounds. · Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites, positioning them on the operating table, and ensuring their comfort. · Clean and sterilize the operating room after procedures, account for all surgical instruments, and assist in transporting patients to recovery. · Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly throughout the procedure. Active CNA License in current good standing. Ability to work full-time during training period (about 6 months). Must be available to work on call after hours and weekends. Demonstrates initiative, ingenuity, and ability to solve problems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Have good language skills to communicate with staff, patients, and families in a professional manner. Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases.
