JOB SUMMARY

Monday-Friday. No on-call required.
Seeking a full-time surgical technologist for outpatient surgical procedures to scrub a variety of cases, as well as decontamination and sterilization of instruments. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Remains flexible in a fast-paced setting.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred, will consider previous experience.
• Orthopedic and Ophthalmology experience preferred.
• BLS Certified

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

• Responsible for working as a team player with surgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists to provide safe and efficient care
• Know and understand principles and methods of sterilization
• Scrub according to policy, arrange instruments and supplies for surgical procedure while maintaining sterility throughout the surgical procedure.
• Ensure proper supplies, equipment, and instruments are prepared for use and ready for the cases for the day
• Anticipate and acknowledge surgeon’s needs and communicate needs to circulating staff
• Clean and disinfect O.R. between every case
• Stock O.R. rooms, prepare cases for the next day and put away inventory
• Other duties as assigned
