Each shift is 3 hours in length. Hybrid or On Site: On Site Language proficiency: English. Proficiency/familiarity with another language is a plus but not required. Schedule: Varies, will include weekends and weekdays. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Survey Associate is responsible for data collection and surveying guests about the visitor experience at the American Swedish Institute. The Survey Associate will provide customer service and follow survey protocols in order to collect reliable and accurate data. This is a grant funded position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES DATA COLLECTION Approach and engage potential participants in data collection at the end of their visit. Reliably and accurately gather data from visitors at scheduled times. Follow data collection protocols, including: Approaching visitors and what to say Ensuring random sampling Tracking response rates Provide exceptional service for visitors at all times by listening, assisting in wayfinding, answering questions, and connecting them with others to help resolve issues as needed. Collaborate and communicate proactively. Perform other duties as needed or required which are within the position's scope. Requirements High school diploma or GED Exceptional customer service skills Excellent communication skills, both with visitors to the museum and coworkers Must be comfortable approaching guests for surveys and interviews and be able to work in and move through public spaces easily for hours at a time. Detail oriented, ability to work independently, and consistently and reliably follow protocols Comfort with technology, specifically an iPad/tablet
