Our client, a regional civil contracting company, has an immediate need for an experienced Survey & AutoCAD Technician, to join their winning team in Jacksonville.
Our candidate of choice plays a vital role in connecting field survey operations with office deliverables. This role requires hands-on field survey experience combined with technical AutoCAD Civil 3D skills. You will work closely with the Survey Manager, Sr. Survey Technician, and field crews to support construction layout, data collection, and as-built/record drawings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 1–2 years of field survey experience (construction layout or civil site work strongly preferred).
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Ability to operate GPS and total stations.
Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Demonstrated field survey experience including construction layout, utilities, grading, and as-built data collection.
Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot survey equipment (GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors).
Work side-by-side with field crews to gather accurate data, then process and draft deliverables in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Be able to read and understand construction plans as related to survey work.
Build and process job files in AutoCAD based on project needs and direction from the Survey Manager and Sr. Survey Technician.
Prepare final documents including As-built/Record drawings and other survey-related plans and maps with minimal supervision.
Engage in all technical components of survey work, including computations, interpreting plans and elevations, construction layout, roadway and utilities, and finish grading.
Execute work according to plans and directives received from the Survey Manager / Sr. Survey Technician / Crew Lead.
Communicate regularly and effectively with the Survey Manager, Sr. Survey Technician, and field personnel.
