Description Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Intern to join our team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, meeting regulatory requirements, public relations) of work, safety, and maintenance of equipment Must operate equipment, maintain safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features Record accurate and clear surveying notes Willingness to travel for 2-3 weeks at a time Requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold Set wooden stakes and iron rods, cut and clear brush, trees, etc. Adhere to the company’s Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies Physical Requirements: Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural or urban surroundings Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances Required Experience: High school diploma or GED required Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelor’s degree program in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study Preferred Experience Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking Full use of Microsoft Office Familiar with GIS processes and terminology Prior experience with survey fieldwork About Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
