Purpose Work with a multi-disciplinary team of field staff and other technicians to review survey and utility data collected in the field for accuracy and completeness. Work on projects of greater scope and complexity. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Perform work under moderate supervision. Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance. At the Operational and Company Level Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and management or client presentations. Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components. Do the Work Utilize geographic information systems and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information. Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping. Organize and maintain field data files. Oversee and process daily downloads of field survey and locate data. Review field data for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for review. Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and management or client presentations. Populate data into ArcGIS online. Develop, document, maintain and improve processes and procedures. Revise deliverable data and ArcGIS data according to client/ manager comments. Support GIS project initiatives. Proficient drafting more complex assignments. Success Metrics and Competencies Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents. Qualifications Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred. Three or more (3+) years of progressively more responsible experience required, preferably in the geospatial realm. Proficient in ArcGIS software, geodatabase concepts, and editing tools. Proficient in data management, mapping techniques & methods, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficient in creating data reports using spreadsheets and databases. Proficient reading utility maps, plans, and as-built drawings. Physical Demands and Working Environment Partly indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. Mobility around an office environment. Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Partly outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards. Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours. Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
