DESCRIPTION Michael Baker International is currently seeking a Survey Project Associate for our Survey practice in Charleston, SC. This role will focus on overseeing and coordinating survey projects, ensuring quality and timely completion of field assignments. RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management: Develop survey scopes, estimate costs/schedules, delegate tasks, monitor contractor performance, and ensure timely delivery. Field Coordination: Plan daily assignments, direct field crews, manage equipment, and ensure accurate data collection. Technical Duties: Conduct record research, perform calculations, use CAD software, review plats, and maintain survey databases. Quality & Compliance: Implement quality control, ensure adherence to standards, and prepare legal descriptions or reports. Supervision/Training: Train staff, manage personnel, and promote ethical practices. Assists with monitoring and ordering work supplies and schedules of vehicle and equipment maintenance. Maintains inventory of all field equipment and vehicles on a weekly basis. Assists with compiling internal documentation and the inspection of deliverables for accuracy and correctness. Provides permit modifications requests, 811 tickets, records requests, MOT, and start work notice supports. Performs additional administrative and technical duties as assigned. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field 2+ Years’ experience - Prefer some exposure to construction services as it relates to highway projects but not required EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or SIT (Surveyor-In- Training) or ability to obtain within 2 years Knowledge of surveying principles, land use regulations, and mapping. Proficiency in survey software, CAD, and GPS equipment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. This range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
