POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Survey Technician with 1–3 years of experience to join our civil engineering/surveying team. The Survey Technician will play a key role in supporting survey operations, coordinating project deliverables, and ensuring accurate preparation of survey drawings and data. This is an in-office position requiring proficiency in AutoCAD and all Microsoft programs along with the ability to collaborate with clients, engineers, project managers, and field survey crews.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· 1–3 years of relevant experience in survey coordination, civil engineering, or a related field.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience is a plus).
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized records.
· Effective communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in surveying, drafting, or civil engineering preferred.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
· Experience working with survey instruments and GPS data.
· Familiarity with construction plans, legal descriptions, and engineering drawings.
· Knowledge of local, state, or federal survey regulations and standards.
Office & Technical Duties
· Process raw survey field data, ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to drafting.
· Prepare topographic, boundary, ALTA, and construction survey drawings using AutoCAD.
· Create and maintain digital survey files, base maps, and exhibits.
· Perform data reduction and analysis of survey field notes, GPS/GNSS data, and control networks.
· Draft plats, legal descriptions, as-built drawings, and related survey documentation.
· Conduct quality control checks on drawings and survey deliverables prior to final release.
· Organize and archive survey data, records, and project files in compliance with company standards.
· Support project managers and engineers by providing accurate survey data and exhibits for design and construction.
