Underhill Geomatics Ltd. is a progressive geomatics and land surveying firm with offices in Vancouver, Kamloops, the Comox Valley, and Whitehorse. In operation since 1913, Underhill continues to provide technologically advanced, flexible, and efficient geospatial solutions for all our clients’ needs within British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
We are seeking an experienced Field Survey Technician to join our surveying team in our Burnaby, BC office. This busy office is involved in both complex legal and engineering survey projects throughout the region.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • at least a 2 year diploma in Geomatics and a minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • effective communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • proficiency in computer applications Trimble Business Centre, Leica Cyclone, Autocad Civil 3D, and GPS data processing.
  • Experience with Trimble and Leica total stations, GNSS, and laser scanners will be an asset.
  • valid driver’s license is mandatory. Current First Aid and WHMIS certificates will be an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to lead a survey crew and work alone for a wide variety of surveying work including legal, engineering, construction, and topographic surveys.
  • performing survey calculations both in the field and in the office and preparing clear, concise and accurate field notes of your work.
  • acting as a representative of our company in the field providing respectful and knowledgeable liaison between the office and client in the field.
  • some travel will be required on an as-needed basis and there is potential for travel and fly in/fly out work.
