MGC Contractors, Inc is looking for a Survey Technician/Field Engineer to join our Arizona Division in the Phoenix metro area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
• Familiarity with State Plane coordinate systems.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment (e.g., total station, GPS, site level, laser level, etc.) Familiarity with Leica products is a plus.
• Proficiency with software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office products.
• Strong mathematical skills, particularly in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• At least five (5) years of experience using survey equipment and AutoCAD. Construction experience is a plus.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with various stakeholders and the ability to communicate through email.
• Must have a clean driver’s license and general knowledge of the Phoenix metropolitan area.

• Review and comprehend blueprint drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, etc.
• Review previous surveys, existing control, and land records to verify and support survey data.
• Develop accurate CAD drawings for job site layout.
• Establish and maintain a system of horizontal and vertical control for each job site.
• Layout structures, pipelines, large and small diameter mechanical piping, site grade, cut/fill elevations and process equipment.
• Develop As-Built files to be provided to engineers and owners.
• Maintain a clean and organized field book.
• Work efficiently with little to no supervision.
• Work closely with Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Superintendents to ensure projects comply with design and regulatory requirements.
• Follow all Company and OSHA Safety Requirements.
• Any and all other duties assigned.
