About the role Stantec’s Geospatial team in Sydney supplies survey services for projects throughout New South Wales. Our team offers diverse opportunities for Surveyors in the Sydney area. We currently have many large and interesting projects for an experienced surveyor to hit the ground running using all the latest technology. In this role, you will be working with a team of specialist surveyors on a variety of projects including rail, transport and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for the managing and completing work required to successfully deliver survey projects. You will be supplied with the best surveying equipment and work with highly respected professionals who will support your development and growth within Stantec. Day to day tasks would involve: Complete field surveys including topographic, feature, engineering, and construction set‑out. Operate survey equipment such as total stations, GNSS/GPS receivers, digital levels, and data collectors. Process survey data and prepare CAD drawings, plans, and spatial deliverables. Maintain equipment, field notes, and data records to company standards. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to clarify survey requirements. Support quality assurance and compliance with safety protocols on all sites. Contribute to continuous improvement of survey workflows and technology use. To be successful for this role you'll need: A relevant qualification in Surveying. 2–5 years of experience as a Survey Technician or Survey Assistant. Experience with survey equipment (e.g., Trimble, Leica, or similar). Working knowledge of CAD or survey processing software (e.g., Civil 3D, 12D, Magnet). Strong attention to detail with excellent record‑keeping. Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A valid driver’s licence (essential).
