Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Stantec’s Geospatial team in Sydney supplies survey services for projects throughout New South Wales. Our team offers diverse opportunities for Surveyors in the Sydney area. We currently have many large and interesting projects for an experienced surveyor to hit the ground running using all the latest technology.
In this role, you will be working with a team of specialist surveyors on a variety of projects including rail, transport and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for the managing and completing work required to successfully deliver survey projects. You will be supplied with the best surveying equipment and work with highly respected professionals who will support your development and growth within Stantec.

DAY TO DAY TASKS WOULD INVOLVE:

  • Undertake various engineering surveys which will include control surveys, topographic surveys, rail surveys, construction set out surveys and cadastral surveys.
  • Office reductions in 12D or MAGNET or Civil 3D
  • Checking plans in AutoCAD
  • Work strictly to health and safety standards
  • Work towards deadlines accurately managing your time efficiently
  • Continually liaise with Survey Project Managers, clients and external stakeholders

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU’LL NEED:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Surveying (Diploma or Degree)
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience, working on a range of surveying projects (previous experience working on rail projects will be advantageous)
  • Proficient experience in a range of surveying projects to be independent in your work
  • Demonstrated experience using Leica or Trimble robotic total stations and GPS units
  • Valid Australian driver’s license
  • Competent use of AutoCAD, 12D or Magnet
