Survey Technician Department: Geoenvironmental Employment Type: Full Time Location: Canton, MI Reporting To: Beth Braun Description The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a (position) to assist with our projects in (location)! Key Responsibilities · Assist survey crews in performing a variety of land surveying services, including: ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys Boundary Surveys Topographic Surveys Construction Staking · Support field operations in a range of project settings, including construction sites, industrial facilities, urban infrastructure, and natural environments near or around water. · Help ensure proper care, maintenance, and calibration of survey equipment. · Maintain and manage inventory of field supplies and equipment. · Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality data collection and efficient field workflows. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise · High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in surveying or a related field is a plus. · Prior field experience or familiarity with land surveying practices is preferred but not required – we’re willing to train the right candidate. · Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. · Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn. · Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks required in fieldwork. · Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
