Description
Description The Surveying Technician will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish. Including research, computations, drafting, client correspondence, meeting attendance and filing final documents. Individual will also be responsible to provide support to the Field Survey teams and existing professional staff. This role is primarily office-based (approximately 95%). Requirements Key Responsibilities: 1. Draft various survey maps including Subdivision Plats, Certified Survey Maps, ALTA Surveys, Plat of Surveys and Topography maps 2. Analyze and draft legal descriptions 3. Prepare Easement Exhibits 4. Compute property boundaries per state statutes 5. Process, interpret and analyze collected field data 6. Interpret plans and specifications in order to setup construction staking files for field crews 7. Attend municipal meetings for project approvals 8. The candidate must possess strong leadership qualities, the ability to successfully complete projects on time and to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences Education and Experience: 1. A land surveyor in the state of Wisconsin 2. 5-10 years of experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D 3. A high level of experience in boundary and right-of-way determination 4. Must possess strong communication, planning, and organizational skills 5. Experience in researching survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence etc. 6. Applicant must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D 2. Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills; the ability to identify alternative solutions, consequences of proposed actions, and to implement recommendations in support of established goals 3. Ability to work as part of team and coordinate work with others 4. Ability to communicate effectively; written and verbally 5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as in high pressure situations with frequent interruptions 6. Willingness and ability to physically work in all weather conditions
