Job Description
The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.

Project scope includes:

• Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
• Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
• Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway

In line with the above, ACCIONA is now looking for a Surveyor to join Western harbour Tunnel – Stage 2. As the Surveyor, you will be required to effectively provide survey services to the project, including common field set out / as-constructed / conformance surveys as well as office checks and calculations. Digital Engineering plays a significant role on the Project and our Surveyors use the most modern technology to achieve positive Digital Engineering outcomes.
This is an underground tunnel position; applicants need to be willing to work in a tunnel environment.

Specific Tasks Include

• Accurately set out survey information, as-constructed and conformance surveys
• Implement ACCIONA Survey Procedures consistently during the course of the survey works for the project duration
• Have a strong attitude and awareness of safety regulations and requirements
• Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with supervisors and engineers on all matters relating to the construction activities
• Ensure that required quantifications and measures are progressively carried out and documented to assist with productivity and progress monitoring. Including progress volume and quantities to assist in construction programs and reporting
• Capable of meshing together site wide surfaces for EOM, generating site wide heatmaps and boxing, pavements and other models

Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications and Experience

• Efficient 12d Model / 12d Field user with the ability to convey information in a variety of formats
• Previous experience in tunnel construction / engineering environment
• Minimum of a TAFE Diploma Tertiary qualification in surveying is required
