TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE AND DEMONSTRATE CAPABILITY IN THE FOLLOWING:

  • Tertiary study in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering or related field Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma (preferred).
  • Remote Pilots Licence (RePL) and Aviation Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) (desirable).
  • Relevant experience within the Civil and Infrastructure industry.
  • Proficiency in surveying software and equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced Surveyor to work FIFO on a 2:1 roster and join our team based Barrow Island, supporting the delivery of marine infrastructure projects across Western Australia.
As the Surveyor, you will report to the Geospatial Manager and play a key role in providing accurate and reliable surveying support throughout all phases of project delivery. You will be responsible for conducting field surveys, interpreting design data, preparing as-built documentation, and ensuring all surveying activities align with project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations. This role is critical in ensuring precision in construction, minimising risk, and supporting the successful execution of complex marine works.

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Conducting field survey activities including topographic, construction layout, end-of-month reporting, and as-built surveys in line with project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Managing the inventory, maintenance, and calibration of surveying equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy on-site.
  • Delivering all surveying requirements in compliance with HSEQ standards and project timelines.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to identify design changes, assess impacts, and provide accurate measurements and advice to the site team.
  • Identifying and implementing innovative and cost-effective surveying solutions.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop effective survey plans that meet project needs.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior and graduate surveyors to support professional development and team performance.
  • Analysing survey data to produce accurate maps, models, and reports for project planning and decision-making.
  • Preparing and reviewing project-specific SWMS and supporting a culture of safe work practices.
  • Participating in and contributing to HSEQ reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
