ABOUT MARITIME CONSTRUCTIONS

Maritime Constructions is a marine contractor, uniquely capable of self-performing the full spectrum of specialised engineering disciplines to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects from design and construction through to commissioning. Projects include jetties, wharves, bulk loading facilities, dredging, reclamation, navigation aids, marinas, underwater pipelines.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / ATTRIBUTES

  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Engineering or Hydrographic Sciences
  • Two (2) years+ construction survey experience
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of modern topographic surveying (optical and GNSS)
  • Understanding of contemporary field and office survey procedures
  • Proficiency using software such as 12D, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hypack, Dredgepack, Trimble Marine Construction or similar
  • Advanced skills in the use of total station and GNSS (RTK and static) equipment
  • Construction White Card and Current Driver’s Licence

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires regular travel and FIFO work which will immediately work on a 4:2 FIFO roster from Perth.

  • Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 + superannuation
Responsibilities

The Surveyor is responsible for delivering high-accuracy topographic and hydrographic survey data to support survey requirements across projects and business operations. This position provides project support for both external clients and internal support for our dredging and construction business lines

  • Initial site set up and control surveys in preparation for construction, dredging and hydrographic survey operations
  • Planning and execution of terrestrial (Optical and GNSS) and hydrographic surveys
  • Setout in support of marine piling and steel placement
  • As-built surveys, quantity and volume-based calculations for project sign off
  • Install, configure and operate positioning systems
  • Digitise design concepts and create CAD drawings
  • Create models for use within machine control systems
  • Data processing, quality control, and compilation of technical reports on completion of topographic and hydrographic surveys
  • Advise Engineers and site crew on the technical requirements of surveying, mapping and spatial information systems
  • Draft survey plans and other product deliverables
  • Implement and develop standards, procedures and guidelines to achieve effective management of personnel and resources
