JOB TITLE: SURVEYOR

Location: Toronto
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: Day Shift - $33.60/HR, Night Shift - $37.60/HR

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geodetic, Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in construction surveying or related fields.
  • Strong background in civil works and infrastructure projects.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in using survey equipment such as Laser Scanners, Total Stations, GNSS receivers, and Digital Levels.
  • Familiarity with design software, including Civil 3D and Point Cloud applications, is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions, including day and night shifts or adverse weather.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Surveyor is an integral part of the construction team, responsible for performing precise surveying tasks to support project activities. Reporting to Senior Surveyors or the Deputy Survey Manager, this role involves working across multiple project sites, often independently in public areas or as part of a team in station or tunnel environments. The Surveyor ensures that all data collection and analysis meet project specifications, contributing to the successful execution of major construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Surveying Activities:

  • Perform assigned surveying tasks, including data acquisition, stakeouts, and network measurements.
  • Execute survey requests across various project areas, such as stations, tunnels, and public zones.
  • Assist Senior Surveyors in periods of high workload and ensure accurate field measurements.

Data Management:

  • Collect, process, and analyze data to ensure it meets project requirements.
  • Support the creation of as-built drawings and maintain detailed records for project documentation.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on collected data to ensure precision and consistency.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Digital Delivery department to support specific needs, including drone flights and advanced monitoring techniques.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless coordination across project phases.
  • Assist in establishing, maintaining, and measuring the survey network as required.

Equipment Management:

  • Operate and maintain advanced survey equipment, including Total Stations, GNSS receivers, and Laser Scanners.
  • Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition, performing regular checks and maintenance.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and participate in all mandatory training sessions.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and follow best practices for health and safety on-site.
