We have an excellent future ahead of us with exciting and robust growth plans, so this is a fantastic time to progress your own career with a rapidly growing SME.
We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Passive Fire Surveyor to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive fire compartmentation surveys, identifying breaches in fire resisting elements, and ensuring buildings meet legal fire safety requirements. Your findings will help inform remedial works and ensure compliance with UK building regulations and fire safety standards

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in passive fire surveying or fire compartmentation inspection
  • Strong understanding of fire-stopping products, systems, and installation methods
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards (e.g., BS 476, BS EN 1366, Fire Safety Act 2021)
  • Experience with reporting software and mobile inspection tools
  • CSCS card
  • Experience within the social housing, healthcare and/or education sector(s).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Willingness to travel in line with business needs (we will always give ample notice for any travel and cover expenses).
Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed passive fire surveys on a variety of commercial, residential, and public sector buildings.
  • Identify and record breaches or defects in fire compartments, penetration seals, fire doors, and other fire-stopping systems.
  • Prepare detailed survey reports using digital tools, photographs, and clear recommendations.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, operatives and compliance officers regarding findings and remedial work requirements.
  • Stay up to date with UK fire safety regulations, including Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999, and BS 476 series.
  • Support fire risk assessors and project managers by providing technical insights into fire stopping and compartmentation strategies.
  • Participate in post-installation inspections to ensure works are carried out to required standards.
