Duties
- Prepare sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards - Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in sushi preparation - Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety and sanitation guidelines - Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing of sushi orders with other menu items - Assist in menu planning and development of new sushi dishes - Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed - Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about sushi options and accommodating special requests Skills
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and presentation - Experience working in the food service industry, preferably in a sushi restaurant or Japanese cuisine establishment - Proficient in menu planning, recipe development, and portion control - Excellent knife skills and ability to handle raw fish safely and efficiently - Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling seafood - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and kitchen staff - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
