POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi chef to join our team at Asuke Sushi. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our head chef, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, and maintaining our high standards of food quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head chef in menu planning, food preparation, and sushi creation.
  • Oversee the kitchen staff and ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Monitor food quality, consistency, and presentation to meet our high standards.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff.
  • Manage inventory and stock control to minimize wastage and maintain freshness.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the head chef to develop new dishes and creative specials.
  • Provide leadership and support during busy service hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 6 month of experience in a managerial role in a sushi restaurant.
  • Fast and skills in plating and decoration of sushi plate.
  • A strong passion for Japanese cuisine and sushi.
  • Proficiency in sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and food safety.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • High standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
