Island Sushi And Grill in Las Vegas, NV is looking for one Part Time Sushi Chef to join our strong team. We are located on 9400 S Eastern Ave #103. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, experienced, and reliable. You must provide proper documentation to work in the US. We are looking for a Full Time candidate as well as a Part Time. WEEKENDS ARE MANDATORY.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3-5 years of sushi chef experience required. (Experience in Fast-Casual Pace Preferred)
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation required. (ServSafe Certification preferred)
  • Knowledge of food allergies and food borne illnesses
  • Must have own set of knives and equipment
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time. Be able to bend, kneel, twist, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Expected to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. (Open schedule preferred)
    Sushi Chef Salary ranges from $14-18 an hour - Depending on Experience.
    Tips are House % for the Position. Average rate is between $8-$12 an hour once at 100%.

Responsibilities
  • Setting up sushi bar for the day & preparing all ingredients (fish, vegetables, sauces, etc.)
  • Preparing Nigiri, Sashimi, Hand Rolls, Cut Rolls, and appetizers.
  • Guest services including conversing, providing knowledge on the restaurant, taking food orders, and keeping track of orders.
  • Keeping work space clean, organized, and abiding to food safety requirements at all times
  • Breaking down sushi bar at end of day and prepping for the following day opening shift
  • Other duties as assigned by management
