JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards for taste, presentation, and food safety.

REQUIREMENTS

  • minimum 3 years of proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional Japanese kitchen.
  • Strong knife skills with a focus on sushi-making techniques and Japanese cuisine.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained.
  • Ability to maintain and follow recipes, processes and standards
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant’s schedule.

    Experience in a Sashimi & Nigiri role is a plus.

    Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
  • Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation techniques.
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and accommodating special requests.
