We are currently looking for a SUSHI COOK to join our dynamic team at COAST Restaurant on Alberni Street. CATCH. COOK. EAT. A true west coast dining experience.
We are looking for a talented and creative SUSHI COOK who is dedicated to the art of sushi preparation and presentation. As a key member of our kitchen team, the Sushi Cook will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards, and ensuring an extraordinary dining experience for our guests.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registration in an apprenticeship program is an asset
  • Basic food preparation
  • FOOD SAFE certification
  • Re-thermalization of prepared foods
  • Developing knowledge of butchery and fish cutting
  • Developing knowledge of baking and pastry production
  • Developing knowledge of all cooking methods such as roasting, stewing, etc.
  • Ability to deal with high pressure environments
Responsibilities
  • Cooks sushi rice
  • Prepare fruits & vegetable for sushi
  • Make tempura batter
  • Portion & prep garnishes for miso soup
  • Roll sushi
  • Butcher & portion seafood
  • Basic food preparation
  • Ensure sanitary cooking conditions and appropriate safe food handling
