We have a high-energy, friendly, and incredible team. We are looking for a hands-on Sushi Manager to help us lead & grow! Key Responsibilities: Maintain high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine standards while ensuring food safety compliance Oversee all phases of sushi and menu item production, including ingredient prep, inventory, ordering, storage, and timely execution of dishes Mentor and train sushi cooks and kitchen staff on knife skills, rolling techniques, plating, and proper seafood handling Create weekly work schedules to balance team capacity with expected sales and service volume Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational kitchen; ensure all equipment is properly maintained to support smooth service Recruit, hire, and onboard kitchen staff with a focus on culinary skill development and adherence to sushi standards Monitor and control food and labor costs while optimizing ingredient usage and minimizing waste Benefits Bonus programs based on meeting company set goals Paid training Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, with company-paid life and long-term disability coverage Meal discounts 2, one week paid vacations per year 401(k) plan ServSafe Certification classes Closed most major holidays The Cowfish is an Equal Opportunity Employer. High degree of flexibility and adaptability. Must be able to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure. Strong interpersonal, verbal and communication skills. Must be approachable and have good leadership skills. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds (including trash bags). Position requires prolonged standing, bending, twisting and repetitive hand and wrist motion. Work with hot, cold, and/or hazardous materials and equipment. A valid driver's license, proof of insurance and non-slip shoes are required.

Responsibilities

Lead the sushi department by maintaining high-quality cuisine standards and ensuring strict food safety compliance. Oversee all production phases, including inventory, staffing, training, and the control of food and labor costs.
