Description Susquehanna Printing Company is looking for a Part Time Circulation Support Staff to join our team! The ideal candidate for this position will be someone that can work independently as well as be a team player. The position requires early morning hours starting in a warehouse environment. You must be able to communicate and assist Independent Contractor’s with various needs. General computer knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office via your cell phone or laptop are required. You will assist the BDL Workers with staging and general BDL duties. You will be responsible for taking messages and passing along the needs of the Independent Contractors to their District Manager in a concise manner using excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 75-90% of this job will require the use of a personal vehicle and driving. Your #1 duty is to cover and deliver DOWN or OPEN routes. You will need the ability to read a list and deliver newspapers while driving. We deliver in all weather conditions, so a reliable vehicle and appropriate clothes are necessary. Some routes require walking or the need to get in and out of your vehicle. Schedule: 2:30am – 8:30am (app. 6hrs/days) Compensation: Hourly rate starting between $19.00-$20.00/hr.- additional compensation will be applied for mileage. Why work with us? Susquehanna Printing is part of Steinman Communications. Susquehanna Printing has expanded its business to include state-of-the-art solutions for scheduling, layout, digital printing, inserting, binding, direct mail, and quality control. Susquehanna Printing is conveniently located right off the Greenfield exit on Route 30. There is access to countless shops and restaurants within minutes and easy access to major cities in the Central PA area such as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. Responsibilities/Duties: Prepare center for daily operation by staging bundles of newspapers or other print products in a timely manner using proper ergonomic practices. Help with all areas of delivery as necessary. Receive and store supplies in the distribution center’s warehouse. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Police parking area regularly. Develop excellent relations with independent delivery contractors through a positive demeanor and active listening skills Maintain a positive, professional interpersonal relationship with all Circulation Department team members & SPC staff. Deliver routes daily. Will report to 1 of our 5 BDL locations and be a liaison between BDL staff, Independent Contractors and District Managers. Update lists and maintain changes. Assist BDL workers in staging papers. Train quality independent contractors as assigned by District Managers. Ensure customer/subscriber service and satisfaction levels are met or exceeded. Conducts route audits to verify accuracy of carrier delivery lists. Responsible for supporting single copy sales. Ensures customer/subscriber satisfaction with delivery of all products Works with other staff members to improve efficiency. Directly supports the district manager staff in achieving all subscriber and carrier-based goals. In addition to the responsibilities above, this is a constantly changing work environment and this position will require other duties assigned by management within reason. Working Conditions: 30-40% of duties will be completed in a Warehouse environment. 60-70% of duties will be completed while driving your personal vehicle. Duties are expected to be competed in all weather conditions. Professionalism and SPC’s code of conduct policies must be followed at all times while on the clock. STN24 Requirements Work experience in Circulation, Distribution or Retail areas is helpful, but willing to train. Experience delivering newspapers is valuable, but willing to train. Forward thinking, anticipates opportunities and situations and looks for ways to improve the team and its outputs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently. Must be outgoing, team-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with others. A good motor vehicle report, valid driver’s license, dependable automobile, and liability insurance are required. Flexibility and time management skills are essential to manage multiple and competing priorities and schedules that can change quickly. Ability to lift 25-50lbs.
