Description Susquehanna Printing Company is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Prepress Production Specialist to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in producing high-quality print and digital advertising materials that meet exacting production standards. You’ll build visually compelling display ads using InDesign in AD-Track for print and Photoshop for web-based formats, ensuring that every piece is accurate, consistent, and press-ready. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving- someone who can type and format precise ad copy, process and edit customer-supplied digital files, and proof every detail for accuracy in layout, color, and content. Susquehanna Printing is conveniently located right off the Greenfield exit on Route 30. There is access to countless shops and restaurants within minutes and easy access to major cities in the Central PA area such as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. Essential Job Functions: Create high-quality print and digital advertisements that are visually compelling, accurate, and error-free, while meeting strict deadlines. Follow supplied layouts and detailed instructions- or work creatively and independently when information is limited- to design effective, on-brand ads. Execute creative design solutions for both print and digital platforms, demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and attention to detail. Operate and maintain proficiency in computerized production systems and design software to support the full advertising workflow. Process and prepare digital assets (PDF, JPG, TIF, EPS, etc.) received from clients via email, FTP, or web uploads, ensuring all files meet print and digital publication standards. Adjust, tone, and edit color and B&W images for optimal reproduction quality across print and digital formats, including performing quality cutouts and color corrections. Edit and optimize customer-supplied PDFs using Adobe Acrobat and/or PitStop to ensure accurate output in both print and online platforms. Identify and resolve potential design or print production issues before publication, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and consistency. Proofread and review all ad content, checking for correct spelling, grammar, and formatting, and applying standard proofreading marks when necessary. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure design integrity and consistency across all print and digital products. Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven production environment, maintaining quality and efficiency. Support pre-press and pagination processes, ensuring all ads and publications meet established production timelines. Contribute to process improvement by offering suggestions for more efficient design and production workflows. Adhere to all safety and operational guidelines, maintaining a professional and organized workspace. Requirements What are we looking for? Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in prepress production or advertising design. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. Experience with PitStop or similar preflight software preferred. Strong understanding of print production workflows, file preparation, and color management for both print and digital environments. Proven proofreading and copy accuracy skills with excellent command of the English language. Solid grasp of color theory, typography, and layout principles. Ability to balance creative design with technical production requirements. Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines. Collaborative mindset with a commitment to quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. Flexibility to work varied hours as production demands require. Physical Requirements: Performs work required for this position in an office environment. Remains sedentary for moderate to extended periods of time. Required to use a computer monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion.
