Along with a competitive salary between £30,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience) we also offer great benefits such as; ​

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE​

  • University degree or equivalent experience.​
  • Strong project management skills with a disciplined, proactive approach to tracking and prioritising tasks –ability to manage multiple initiatives, coordinate actions, and consistently meet deadlines.​
  • Inquisitive mindset, with a genuine interest in sustainability and electricity networks and their role in the clean energy transition.​
  • Experience building relationships and networks with colleagues and external partners.​
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in data capture, analysis, and reporting using tools like Excel and PowerPoint.​

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE​

  • Background in sustainability or community engagement, obtained via education, work, or voluntary roles.​
  • Experience in sustainability and/or social value reporting.​
  • Experience of working in similar sector, or other regulated and complex organisations.​
  • Full UK driving licence.​

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will: ​

  • Work with the Sustainability Manager and teams across the business to develop, execute, and report on our Sustainability Strategy, while supporting ad hoc sustainability projects.​
  • Collaborate with operational colleagues to implement our Social Impact programme, ensuring projects are tailored to local investment schemes and communities’ needs, whilst meeting our business plan objectives.​
  • Collate, analyse and communicate data relating to Social Impact to demonstrate the value of the programme, feeding into corporate and regulatory reports.​
  • Support the Sustainability & Regional Engagement team with daily operations and administrative tasks.​
  • Maintain and expand our relationships with educational establishments across our region, supporting the delivery of Net Zero and STEM schools programmes.​
  • Organise and monitor corporate volunteering, promoting use of colleague volunteering allowances. Collaborate with partners to create opportunities that align with our Sustainability Strategy.​
  • Attend and represent Northern Powergrid at sustainability-related events across the region.
