Along with a competitive salary between £30,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience) we also offer great benefits such as;

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

University degree or equivalent experience.
Strong project management skills with a disciplined, proactive approach to tracking and prioritising tasks –ability to manage multiple initiatives, coordinate actions, and consistently meet deadlines.
Inquisitive mindset, with a genuine interest in sustainability and electricity networks and their role in the clean energy transition.
Experience building relationships and networks with colleagues and external partners.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in data capture, analysis, and reporting using tools like Excel and PowerPoint.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Background in sustainability or community engagement, obtained via education, work, or voluntary roles.
Experience in sustainability and/or social value reporting.
Experience of working in similar sector, or other regulated and complex organisations.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Work with the Sustainability Manager and teams across the business to develop, execute, and report on our Sustainability Strategy, while supporting ad hoc sustainability projects.
Collaborate with operational colleagues to implement our Social Impact programme, ensuring projects are tailored to local investment schemes and communities’ needs, whilst meeting our business plan objectives.
Collate, analyse and communicate data relating to Social Impact to demonstrate the value of the programme, feeding into corporate and regulatory reports.
Support the Sustainability & Regional Engagement team with daily operations and administrative tasks.
Maintain and expand our relationships with educational establishments across our region, supporting the delivery of Net Zero and STEM schools programmes.
Organise and monitor corporate volunteering, promoting use of colleague volunteering allowances. Collaborate with partners to create opportunities that align with our Sustainability Strategy.
Attend and represent Northern Powergrid at sustainability-related events across the region.
