We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple complex environmental projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project and environmental management, with a proven ability to balance competing priorities, mitigate risks, and ensure successful outcomes in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments. This role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to apply both strategic direction and technical understanding to achieve sustainable results.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop, implement, and manage project strategies, objectives, timelines, and execution plans across multiple environmental projects.
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Translate complex environmental objectives into actionable project plans that reflect organizational goals and client expectations.
- Understanding of local environmental regulatory frameworks around mangrove ecosystem, coastal and arid habitats.
Multi-Project Management
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying levels of complexity and competing deadlines.
- Coordinate internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient resource utilization.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Expertise
- Evaluate complex situations and datasets to identify root causes, risks, and opportunities.
- Select appropriate methods and techniques to resolve technical and operational challenges, leveraging both internal and external resources.
Risk Management & Reporting
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks to minimize impact on delivery.
- Maintain accurate tracking of project performance, schedules, milestones, and budgets.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, technical documentation, and stakeholder updates.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Implement the organization’s HSE standards across all project phases.
- Ensure all regulatory, safety, and sustainability requirements are consistently met or exceeded during project execution.
Environmental Reporting & Compliance
- Draft, review, and edit high-quality technical environmental reports and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, permits, and legal requirements.
- Support internal auditing and regulatory reporting efforts.
Quality Assurance & Conflict Resolution
- Monitor work quality across teams and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify and address potential conflicts or project challenges early, taking corrective action to keep projects on track.
Customer Onboarding & Community Engagement
- Oversee customer onboarding processes to ensure successful integration with the organization’s platform.
- Promote platform adoption and monitor usage to maintain high customer satisfaction (CSAT) metrics.
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication to address and resolve customer-reported issues efficiently.
- Lead and coordinate community engagement activities related to project delivery, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and environmental objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Sustainability, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing environmental or sustainability-focused projects.
- Prior experience working with mangrove, coastal, or arid ecosystems is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
- High proficiency in project management tools
- Experience in preparing environmental reports and conducting regulatory compliance checks.
- Solid understanding of regional environmental laws and permitting processes (especially within GCC region).
- PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, consolidate and enhance the existing corporate sustainability framework and strategy.
- Develop sustainability governance structures, responsibilities, RACI matrices and reporting processes.
- Lead the development of the organisation's annual Sustainability Report aligned with GRI Standards.
- Establish reporting methodologies, templates, evidence requirements and internal review processes.
- Review and enhance energy, GHG emissions and flaring reporting, including corporate-level consolidation and data-quality controls.
- Develop and formalise ESG and sustainability KPIs, ownership structures and performance dashboards.
- Conduct and support materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement.
- Improve sustainability data governance, audit readiness and reporting consistency.
- Provide structured coaching and mentoring to junior sustainability personnel.
- Develop procedures, SOPs, reporting tools and documentation to enable long-term internal ownership of sustainability activities.
Experience & Requirements
- Significant experience within Sustainability, ESG, Energy or Environmental Performance Management.
- Proven experience developing or supporting GRI-aligned Sustainability Reports.
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, sustainability governance and corporate sustainability strategy.
- Technical understanding of GHG emissions, flaring and energy performance reporting.
- Experience developing sustainability/ESG KPI frameworks, dashboards and performance reporting.
- Experience undertaking or supporting materiality assessments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional coordination capability.
- Ability to coach, mentor and transfer technical knowledge.
- Excellent written reporting, analytical and presentation skills.
- Previous Oil & Gas or Energy sector experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of internationally recognised standards including ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 14064
