Responsibilities

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Sustainability leadership and support to Omya’s facilities in the Area by ensuring the QHSE Management System is effective for the Area, in order to accomplish the following tasks:
  • Implement Omya and local area WHS standards, programs and metrics for every Omya facility in Area in a manner that is aligned with WHS requirements, including managed return to work, industry standards and that supports Omya’s overall H&S goals.
  • Provide on-site support, at individual plants, construction and M & A projects, quarries and other facilities to document and ensure baseline compliance with the aforementioned standards, programs and metrics.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of QHSE performance across the Area.
  • Implement information sharing across disciplines, between facilities and with other entities, to increase site capability to manage QHSE opportunities
  • Collaboratively develop QHSE standards, programs and metrics for every Omya facility in Area in a manner that is aligned with industry standards and that supports Omya’s QHSE goals.
  • Implement Corporate and Regional policies, directives, handbooks, programs, and corporate reporting tools as required for the local organisation.
  • Fully support, local QHSE initiatives at individual plants, quarries and other facilities to document and ensure baseline compliance with the aforementioned standards, programs and metrics.
  • Establish continuous improvement of QHSE performance across the Area.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HSE Incident notification, legal non-compliance, and customer complaints management – report to Area Management and Head of Sustainability – RAP in a timely manner according to Corporate Incident Reporting and Corporate Customer complaint handling requirements.
  • Provide regular QSHE reports the area management team and to the Head of Sustainability – RAP, showing performance to objectives, and key performance indicators, e.g. lagging (eg. LTIR) and positive performance indicators, as required.

SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of Area risk and regulatory compliance programs, updates of local and regional risk and regulatory compliance registers (shared with Operations, SCM, Engineering, Mining teams).
  • Support and implementation of continuous improvement of processes and systems to enhance internal and external customer satisfaction.
