POSITION OVERVIEW

The Global Procurement (GP) function enables Deutsche Bank (DB) to optimise supplier relationships to meet its strategic objectives by:

  • Partnering across DB to develop and execute strategies to meet our business requirements.
  • Applying our understanding of the supply market and specialised procurement capabilities to optimise value for DB.
  • Enabling DB to access suppliers whilst identifying and mitigating vendor risks.
  • Managing the platforms to enable efficient and compliant purchasing of goods and services.
  • This role will be responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of our sustainable procurement strategy to support meeting DB’s sustainability commitments. You will be working in the Sustainable Procurement team, which is part of Procurement Enablement and Transformation within the Global Procurement function, to support embedding and driving our supply chain sustainability strategic plan.
  • You will work with internal stakeholders across Sustainable Procurement, Group Sustainability, Global Real Estate, Data & Analytics and other disciplines to ensure we are meeting our supplier requirement expectations and supporting how we transparently report on our progress internally and externally.
  • You will work with external rating agencies (such as EcoVadis, CDP, Sustainalytics, MSCI and others) as well as supply partners to enhance our approach on ESG compliance. You will also drive improvements in how we report our progress on a regular basis via our external regulatory reporting requirements (for example Modern Slavery Act, Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).

SKILLS

  • Ability to set KPIs and analyse data in order to set targets and strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (required at fluent level) and German (desired but not essential).
  • Excellent numeric and data skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning and presenting skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and adapt style to different stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

  • Prior knowledge, skills and experience in ESG reporting in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience at manipulating complex sustainability datasets on tools such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of ESG themes and how they support a commercial or procurement function.
  • Experience in reporting and monitoring of ESG standards within an organization.
  • Experience in Financial Services or a large corporate environment with an understanding of procurement and supply chains desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Support in developing, implementing and executing the sustainability strategy for bank-wide procurement.
  • Support the implementation of supplier ESG data management and integration.
  • Lead on undertaking relevant benchmarking activities to seek improvements versus our peers approach to externally reporting on ESG performance.
  • Leading the development of internal and external repositories of information to aid our colleagues and suppliers embed our approach to sustainable procurement, for example developing and refreshing our training materials and internal communication platforms on SharePoint.
  • Support the integration of sustainability in the bank’s own procurement processes as well as in the business processes of our most important suppliers in various industries.
