burgbad in Europe as well as supportive tasks for VitrA, two leading bathroom furniture producers. Main target is to integrate sustainability into the everyday essence of the organisation.
Sustainability is a key company strategy and Burgbad established already in 2014 systematic sustainability management. As a result, we became the first climate neutral bathroom furniture company in 2016.
As the sustainability leader, you will work closely with internal departments and provide advice on a range of sustainability and environmental issues including; circular economy, carbon emissions and legislation whilst working to integrate KPI’s and report on sustainability related topics. Other key aspects will include setting strategy roadmaps, robust policies, target setting and monitoring trends to minimise risk and develop initiatives. Also providing a supportive, transparent atmosphere to offer development and training programmes to inspire and motivate operational team members.
The Sustainability Manager is a senior management role with responsibility for a departmental budget and improving the sustainability culture within the business. You will have the opportunity to influence senior and cross-functional stakeholders, build partnerships and take part in industry events.

YOUR SKILLS:

  • University degree, ideally at a Master’s level or higher, in a sustainability-related field. In Environmental Sciences or Engineering, Economics or other sustainability-related disciplines
  • 5+ years Sustainability / ESG related professional work experience Solid holistic understanding of global sustainability issues in our society at large as well as current best practices in sustainable strategy, planning and delivery
  • Relevant knowledge of environmental sustainability challenges in multinational companies, working knowledge and experience with ESG standards and frameworks (i.e., Global Reporting Initiative, Value Reporting Foundation/Sustainability Accounting Standards Board)
  • Specific experience in sustainability/climate change strategy development; energy efficiency, GHG accounting in line with best practice methodologies; LCA / Scope 3 emissions accounting; target setting (SBTs); disclosure (e.g. CDP, TCFD); benchmarking / materiality assessment, stakeholder engagement and change management
  • Excellent project management skills, from both a technical and administrative standpoint, and proven ability to guide project teams in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies
  • Excellent data handling skills and advanced knowledge of

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Assess current state, develop global strategy and approach, including short and long term goals
  • Drive strategy, objectives and tactical requirements in all areas of sustainability
  • Provide ESG thought leadership that aligns with and creates business value to the company
  • Develop and establish global measurement and reporting practices, incorporating current industry standards and best practices, in alignment with company-wide goals and functional business unit priorities
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate effectiveness of programs and projects, ensuring dedicated resources to areas with the most relevant or necessary potential impact
  • Over time, develop management system framework and programs, including assessment tools, training, and organizational guidance, coaching and support, to grow an overall culture that recognizes, evaluates, and controls concerns
  • Identify risks and opportunities that may impact the company from a program perspective, and act to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities
  • Collaborate with all teams to develop projects and promote initiatives in the company
  • Communicate effectively with the Holding, group companies, board, executive leadership, business leaders, employees across all functions and other stakeholders
  • Keep informed of the global ESG regulatory and industry landscape to d etermine paths forward that make sense for the company
