JOB SUMMARY:

The Environment & Sustainability Specialist will support the Environmental and Sustainability function and be responsible for tasks essential to the success of the teams. This role will manage initiatives and be an integral team player by participating in environmental and sustainability projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with one (1) or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience leading and owning a success initiative within the Environmental and Sustainability realm of wok.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • Passion and drive for environmental and sustainability initiatives.
  • Proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current and updating Environmental and Sustainability laws and regulations.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Primary responsibility for maintaining Global Headquarters Fitwell certification.
  • Manage special sustainability and environmental projects. Lead and implement the Sustainability and Wellness Fair as well as environmental and sustainability initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Assist the Environmental team with compliance regulations such as ensuring compliance at the various plants, preparing and scheduling plant visits, and monitors Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws and regulations.
  • Develop content and publish the monthly Sustainability Newsletter by collaborating with content providers and authors. Assist environmental staff with communication at various segments.
  • Coordinate, maintain, and upgrade the Environmental and Sustainability department intranet site and file share drive.
  • Assist Environmental leaders in submittals of government required reports. Coordinate with our Global Procurement and Supply Chain (GPSC) group and outside vendors in responding to queries from leaders.
  • Manage purchases and invoices for the Environmental and Sustainability department. Assist senior management with ensuring
  • Track annual budget items for department and serve as a liaison between the financial team and the legal department Office of General Counsel. Manage the quarterly reporting to the business segment of Environmental Financial Reserves.
  • Coordinate both in-person and virtual meetings of the Environmental Leadership Team. Serve as a member of the Corporate Sustainability Leadership Team by recording and publishing meeting minutes.
  • Manage environmental projects for the enterprise by tracking projects and deliverables through management database systems
  • Train new hires at Shift Into Gear on company environmental and sustainability procedures and policies.
